The Canvas Usage initiative also invites you to upload your existing syllabus or develop one using the Syllabus Tool within Canvas.
In three simple steps, you can add your syllabus to your Canvas course:
The following video shows you how to do this.
Alternatively, you may click Continue below to follow step-by-step the instructions.
In your Canvas course, in the left-hand navigation menu, click Syllabus.
If you have a course template provided with your course shell, you will see some syllabus text when you click on the Syllabus tool. You will be deleting this text to create space to upload your syllabus.
The Syllabus page will open and you will see the Syllabus Description area at the top of the Syllabus and the Rich Content Editor (toolbar).
Now you will replace the Syllabus text you deleted with your own Syllabus file.
Your syllabus file is now stored in the course Files area and you see a link to your syllabus file in the Syllabus tool.
You could simply click Update Syllabus and your students would see and be able to open your syllabus by clicking on the link. But wait! There’s another quick step you can take to make your syllabus easier for students to view.
